The American Indian Tribute Henry Rifle

American Indian Tribute Rifle

The American Indian Tribute Rifle is a handsomely decorated Henry rifle honoring the rich and proud heritage of the Native Americans of the West.  The Tribute handsomely portrays images of tribal chiefs and brave warriors of the late 19th century.  The specially commissioned artwork for this tribute captures the spirit of the brave warriors whose lives played such a prominent role in this unique chapter of American history.

For the Tribute, we selected the legendary Henry rifle.  Introduced during the Civil War, the Henry rifle quickly spread westward after the war.  With its remarkable firepower, the Henry rifle was a favorite firearm on the Western frontier.  Many warriors relied on the rifle for hunting, as well as in battle.  Today many excellent examples of Henry rifles from this period are on display in museums across America.

American Indian Tribute Rifle - Left Side

Left side of the receiver features magnificent artwork capturing proud and brave warriors on the Western frontier.  Featured in the center, you will find a scene with six brave Indian leaders on horseback surveying the rolling plains ahead of them.  To the left is a lone brave, perhaps on a scouting expedition.  Prominently displayed on both sides of the receiver is the symbolic image of a buffalo skull with feathers.  The American buffalo was revered by the Plains Indians, providing them with the basic necessities of life:  food, shelter and clothing.  The feathers represent the importance of the eagle in the lives of Native Americans.  Each image is elegantly framed with Native American motifs.

American Indian Tribute Rifle - Right Side

Right side of the receiver features dramatic artwork honoring revered and respected Native American leaders of the Old West era.  The central image dramatically features a meeting of Tribal leaders, who have gathered together to discuss an event of major importance.  The artwork is captured in remarkable detail, and two of the leaders proudly hold Henry rifles in their hands.  To the right, a proud and noble chief is shown astride his favorite horse, carrying his trusty Henry rifle decorated with tacks.  The Tribute's receiver is polished and decorated with 24-karat gold.  The artwork is featured in gold and nickel with artwork images highlighted with a special blackened patina for maximum detail and contrast.
