Left side features the most respected tanks
of the Western Front, with the Tribute’s name, “Battle Tanks of World
War II,” highlighted in the center. The British Churchill first saw
action in 1942 in North Africa and Europe, eventually proving invaluable
in clearing paths during the D-Day invasion of Normandy. America’s
workhorse, the M4 Sherman, was praised for its mechanical reliability
and ability to cross rough terrain, with its combat success coming from
sheer numbers. The German Tiger was a heavy tank that could withstand a
frontal assault from almost any Allied tank, and the fast-moving German
Panzer IV was a key weapon in the Nazi arsenal.

featured. The American Stuart was a light tank used by U.S. forces.
Outgunned by more powerful German tanks, the Stuart’s 37mm gun proved
effective against the Japanese army. The Russian T-34 was widely
considered the most advanced tank for its era and was instrumental in
pushing back the Germans on the Eastern Front. The German Panther
combined an increased armor-piercing capacity and the ability to strike
accurately from a long distance.
