WE MUST NEVER FORGET...
More than sixty years ago, Americans answered their
country's call to fight the spread of
communism at the 38th parallel in Korea.
The Korean War would last for three
years and would claim the lives of more than 36,000 Americans,
with an additional 8,000 still missing today.

The right side of the slide features the dates 1950-1953
above the title "Korean War," flanked by a tank and artillery piece. The artwork
on both sides is framed by elegant scrollwork in the tradition of the finest firearms. The
POW-MIA insignia is also featured on both sides, honoring those unaccounted for after the
war. The top of the slide features artwork symbolizing all branches of the Armed Forces,
along with the VFW's logo and motto, "We'd Do Anything For This Country."

 |
On the slide's left side, you will find a map
of North and South Korea with the symbolic 38th parallel dividing the two, surrounded by
the names of ridges where many of the battles took place. A banner with the legend
"VFW Korean War Tribute" and the VFW logo are prominently featured. Fighter jets
were first used in combat during the Korean War, and two jets are shown on
the slide. Also depicted is a column of advancing American G.I.'s and a helicopter.
All artwork is featured in a combination of 24-karat gold and nickel with a
mirror-polished blued background.
