Authorized by
the National Rifle Association
The NRA was
founded in 1871 by a group of National Guard officers who had served in
the Civil War and were concerned about marksmanship and national defense.
Today the NRA is comprised of nearly four million members who share a
common bond – an appreciation of firearms, a commitment to safety and
responsibility, and a belief in the constitutional right to keep and bear
arms. Never before in our country’s remarkable history has “America’s
First Freedom” been challenged as it has in recent years. Ever vigilant in
the preservation of “America’s
First Freedom,” the NRA and its members have become a potent political
voice, expressing their concerns and taking the lead in the battle to
uphold the validity of the United States Constitution’s Second Amendment.Today America Remembers proudly salutes the heritage of the National
Rifle Association and the
Association’s on-going role as America’s first line of defense in
preserving the rights our Founding Fathers established for us. For this
historic Tribute, America Remembers selected the legendary Henry Rifle, a
classic lever-action rifle which revolutionized firearms history.

Each Tribute is a detailed recreation of the Henry rifle in caliber
.44-40, and produced by the incomparable artisans of A. Uberti, whose
master craftsmen have painstakingly reproduced the greatest firearms of
history for more than four decades. Each rifle is decorated with artwork
in 24-karat gold and nickel by craftsmen specifically commissioned by
America Remembers for this Tribute. The artwork features portraits of four
prominent early leaders of the NRA, along with recognizable symbols and
logos of the NRA.
The Tribute is issued with the authorization of the National Rifle
Association in a strictly limited edition of only 300 Tribute Rifles.
America Remembers will arrange delivery of your working Tribute through a
licensed firearms dealer of your choice. If for any reason you are less
than fully satisfied with your Tribute, you may
return it in original unfired condition within 30 days for a full and
courteous refund.

Right side of the receiver displays a shooting scene from Creedmoor, home
to the NRA’s first shooting range. Portraits of four prominent early
leaders of the NRA are featured, including NRA cofounders, Colonel William
Church and General George Wingate. Two Civil War heroes who also served as
Presidents of the NRA are featured – General Ambrose Burnside, the NRA’s
first President, and General Ulysses S. Grant, a war hero and 18th
President of the United States, who served in the NRA’s top position from
1883 to 1885. Featured below the hammer is a rifleman taking aim, an early
NRA image used on letterhead and other printed materials.

Left side of the receiver features images associated with the National
Rifle Association. In the center, a militia member stands at the ready
with his musket, surrounded by the legend, “National Rifle Association
Tribute” and a banner which bears the phrase “The Right of the People to
Keep and Bear Arms.” Also prominently displayed is the familiar NRA seal.
To the right, the two rifles forming a “V” for “Victory” atop a bull’s-eye
represent an illustration that first appeared on NRA’s “Plan for Approved
Small Arms Firing Schools.” To the left is a representation of the cover
of “Arms and the Man,” the first official NRA magazine, which was later
renamed the "American Rifleman."
