Historians, when describing the scouts, often use the
words Nobel and Daring. But, put into their own words, the scouts were a bunch of
hard nosed roughnecks that weren't bringing to fruition America's "Manifest
Destiny," but were rather making a living cut'n trails and saving the Army from get'n
scalped.
They were a special breed of men. All rugged and self made with a
love for adventure and a disdain for death. They were the scouts of the Wild West -
men like Buffalo Bill Cody, Jim Bridger, Jim Beckwourth, Kit Carson, and Wild Bill Hickok.

On the right side of the receiver are the portraits of three of our
honored scouts. to the right of the loading gate is the image of Kit Carson and to
the left is that of Buffalo Bill Cody. The Shakespeare quoting Bridger can be seen
directly above the trigger. All three scouts are surrounded in lavish scrollwork and
featured in 24-karat gold. The attention to detail is exacting.

The left side of the receiver displays portraits of Jim Beckwourth and
Wild Bill Hickok. The images are as faithful to these men as
tintypes of the 1800's. Dividing these portraits, in bold
Victorian lettering, is the inscription "Dedicated To The Lives And
Legends Of Wm. F. Cody And The Scouts Of The Western Frontier." And
sharing this place of honor is the symbolic image of the western plains
over which the scouts blazed their trails...the American Buffalo.
Surrounding each portrait and embellishing the receiver is scrollwork
reminiscent of the 1800's.

The Tribute is handsomely decorated in spectacular 24-karat gold on the
lever, receiver, crescent buttplate, end cap, and magazine cap. The 24-karat gold
actually plays in magnificent contrast to the mirror-polished blue octagonal barrel and
the checkered walnut stock. And bringing back the traditional flavor of the West are
the case hardened hammer and seldom seen spirit level tangent sight.
