Texas Ranger Tribute Revolver

There is a saying in Texas:  "One Riot, One Ranger."

Texas Ranger Tribute Revolver
History is filled with accounts of legendary Texas Rangers who brought law and order to towns torn by blood feuds, and Rangers who fought bravely against bands of outlaws and Indian war parties to protect the citizens of Texas.

Time and again, they proved that one person in the right could triumph over even the greatest odds.

Now, America Remembers is pleased to announce an exclusive tribute honoring the Texas Rangers, a handsomely decorated working Single Action Revolver in caliber .45 Colt.  It's a fitting tribute to the many bold Rangers who trusted their own Single Action revolvers on the dangerous missions they so often undertook, and celebrates the world-famous Ranger legend.

Leander McNelly:
"There are only two kinds of people for us - outlaws and law-abiding.  Treat these law-abiding folks with all respect, regardless of color or size.  Don't enter a house unless the man invites you in.  Don't take a roasting ear [of corn] or melon unless he tells you to.  If his dog barks at you, get away from it.  Don't shoot it.  Let them know we're their friends sent down to help them."

The backstrap features the inscription,
"They Knew Their Duty and They Did It",
based on a famous quote from Ranger John S. "Rip" Ford that neatly sums up more than 175 years of Ranger history.

The Tribute is issued in cooperation with the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco, Texas, a facility dedicated to promoting appreciation of the Texas Rangers and preserving the rich and colorful heritage of the Rangers.
This handsome Tribute is decorated in lustrous 24-karat gold with artwork honoring legendary Texas Rangers and the Ranger heritage.  Each Tribute revolver is decorated by America's most talented craftsmen under an exclusive commission from America Remembers.

The cylinder features portraits of six legendary Texas Rangers......Maj. John Jones, served as commander of the Frontier Battalion and later as adjutant general of the Texas Rangers.  Capt. Leander McNelly fought tirelessly against border bandits, showing no mercy to outlaws and no patience for vigilantes.  Sgt. John B. Armstrong, nicknamed "McNelly's Bulldog" - whose arrest of killer John Wesley Hardin remains one of the most famous showdowns in Ranger history.  Capt. Bill McDonald believed that "No man in the wrong can stand against a fellow who's in the right and keeps on a-comin'."  Capt. Dan Roberts spent most of his life in one Texas battle or another, fighting in numerous border wars, the Civil War and many Ranger campaigns.  Sgt. James B. Gillett battled Kiowa, Comanche and Apache war parties as a Ranger and participated in the last recorded Ranger-Indian battle in 1881.
