West Point Tribute Pistol

"But in the evening of my memory,
always I come back to West Point.
Always there echoes and re-echoes:
Duty, honor, country."

General Douglas MacArthur, West Point, May 12, 1962

West Point Tribute Pistol

The America Remembers West Point Tribute .45 is designed and crafted to be a cherished heirloom. The frame is finished in a rich matte black. The slide is polished to a near-mirror finish and then decorated with artwork in 24-karat gold and nickel. Emblazoned on the left side of the slide is the legend "West Point - The United States Military Academy" bracketed by General's stars. The legend is flanked on the left by a detailed depiction of ordered ranks of cadets marching on "The Plain." On the right is the Cadet Chapel, which overlooks the academic buildings and cadet barracks of West Point. In front of the Cadet Chapel are shown the Eisenhower and MacArthur Barracks and Washington Hall.

West Point Tribute Pistol - Right Side

On the right side of the slide, the central vignette is emblazoned with the evocative words of General Douglas MacArthur, in his farewell address to the Academy's cadets in 1962. To the left of MacArthur's quote is a depiction of the Thayer Gate, named in honor of Sylvanus Thayer, "The Father of the United States Military Academy." This landmark structure was part of the Academy's Gothic Revival building effort.  The new  Thayer Gate (Gothic Design) was erected in 1988 as a gift to the Academy from the West Point Class of June, 1943, and dedicated that year at the 45th Reunion of the Class.  On the right is displayed a depiction of Trophy Point, the outdoor museum which includes trophies from wars fought by American forces. The scene depicts one of the cannons facing the Hudson river.

At the rear of the slide, on both sides, in 24-karat gold and black, are depictions of the distinctive United States Military Academy crest.  Beneath the recoil spring plug, at the lower front of the slide, is each pistol's own special and certified issue number featured in gold.  Only three hundred of these West Point Tribute pistols will be made, and the pistols are individually numbered from 001-300.  At the top of the slide, ahead of the rear sight, in brushed nickel, gold and black, is the official crest of the United States Military Academy Association of Graduates.

The grips on this deluxe Tribute pistol are crafted of handsome rosewood and are checkered in the classic “double diamond” pattern characteristic of the original Model 1911 pistols.  As a final touch, the grip screws, slide stop, hammer, safety lock, and magazine catch are all polished and elegantly plated with 24-karat gold.

West Point Tribute Pistol - Case

The case is luxuriously lined and will elegantly showcase your Tribute. A brass plaque confirms that the Tribute is issued by America Remembers and is officially authorized by the Association of Graduates of the United States Military Academy.
