Celebrating 175 Years of
Texas Freedom
The story of Texas has no shortage of heroes. We all know them by
name—Austin, Crockett, Bowie and Houston—and their brave deeds have
become American legend. But there were also plenty of heroes who didn't
make it into the history books or fight atop the walls of the Alamo.
They were ordinary Texans who became extraordinary by fighting back and
sacrificing everything to defend what was right. Without their courage,
there would be no Texas... and no United States of America.
Not much has changed. Today, Texans still hold sacred
those same beliefs that helped make the Lone Star State so great. They
are proud of who they are and where they hail from for good reason. Deep
in the heart of Texas beats a love for independence, individuality and
state pride. And today, as we celebrate 175 years of Texan freedom,
their passion and dedication to liberty serve as a shining example of
the true American spirit.
Now America Remembers proudly presents the Texas Pride
Tribute Revolver, on the historic 175th Anniversary of Texas freedom.
For the Tribute, we’ve selected the legendary Colt Walker Revolver, a
firearm with a history deeply connected to Texas history. Classically
decorated with slogans and symbols from the Texas Revolution, this
Tribute is an extraordinary salute to the state’s rich history, its rich
people and its bright future.
Each revolver in the edition is a working .44 caliber
black powder revolver crafted of modern, high-strength steel by the Colt
Blackpowder Arms Company. Craftsmen commissioned specifically by America
Remembers decorate the Tribute in lustrous 24- karat gold artwork over
handsome blued steel.

A Lone Star Legend: It
Would Take a Texan To Shoot It!
Few pistols seem more fitting for this Tribute than the Colt Walker
Revolver. The revolver was made for Texas at the request of Captain
Samuel Walker of the Texas Rangers. Larger and more powerful than any
powder gun of its time, the Walker revolver was an impressive weapon for
an even more impressive territory. In 1847, Walker wrote that the gun
was “as effective as a common rifle at 100 yards and superior to a
musket even at 200.” Fully loaded, the monster pistol weighed almost
five pounds. The revolver was so big that Colt reportedly said, “It
would take a Texan to shoot it.”
We as a nation owe a debt to Texas. It is vital to
remember that the history of Texas is the history of America. Those
brave souls who fought to secure Texas as a free and independent
republic must not be forgotten. And our hope at America Remembers is
that you will appreciate this stunning Tribute Revolver as a piece of
firearms history, a celebration of Texan pride and, most importantly, as
a constant reminder that freedom is always worth the fight.

Right side features the iconic cannon and slogan
brought forth during the Battle of Gonzales, the first skirmish of the
Texas Revolution, with the slogan “Come And Take It.” Featured beside
the cannon is an inspiring quote from Texan hero Sam Houston: “Be Men,
Be Free Men,” from his speech to the troops before the Battle of San
Jacinto. Right side also features a banner reading, “Texas – 175 Years –
Independence.”
Left side features the quote, “Freedom Is Never Free.”
Also featured is the iconic depiction of a banner-draped sword, taken
from the historic San Jacinto Liberty Flag. The original battle flag
featured a classic depiction of Liberty with her raised sword and the
banner pictured here, which reads “Liberty Or Death.” The top of the
cylinder reads “Freedom 1836.”

Both sides of the cylinder feature the unmistakable outline of the Lone
Star State etched in 24-karat gold. Four rows of 24-karat gold stars
also wrap completely around the massive cylinder.
