Any Tribute to Texas demands a canvas worthy

ranks of American firearm history, few weapons can compete with the Thompson
submachine gun. It’s an American legend! The Thompson became famous during
the most thrilling showdowns of the 20th century. Bootleggers and big city
gangsters were quick to adopt the “Tommy Gun” as their weapon of choice, but
the good guys answered back by putting Thompsons in the hands of lawmen, FBI
G-Men, and the fabled Texas Rangers.
As the brutal fighting of World War I raged,
retired Army General John T. Thompson began to research a weapon that would
put more firepower in the hands of Allied men. In his own words, he
envisioned a lightweight, fully automatic firearm as “a one-man, hand held
machine gun. A trench broom!” Although General Thompson did not finish
creating the Thompson until after the war had ended, it was an ideal weapon
for the protection of large estates, ranches, and plantations. The Thompson
was described as, “The most effective portable firearm in existence.” The
promises of the Thompson being “simple, safe, sturdy, and sure in action”
proved to be true.
In World War II, the Thompson was finally
able to fulfill its original mission as a fierce, yet lightweight, automatic
firearm for the infantry. The United States military went on to use the
Thompson in the Korean War as well as in Vietnam. The FBI kept Tommy Guns in
their arsenal up until 1976. To this day, the Thompson remains one of the
most widely recognized and respected American firearms in the world.

The Tribute’s 24-karat gold-decorated
