U.S. Cavalry Association Tribute Revolver

Established in 1775, The United States Cavalry has a long and proud history. In today's high-tech era where cavalry steeds have been replaced by tanks and helicopters, the Cavalry's esprit de corps and dedication to duty remain the same.

The U.S. Cavalry is undoubtedly best known for its role in taming the American West. Despite post-Civil War cutbacks, the U.S. Cavalry was still the most efficient and resourceful force of its kind anywhere in the world. And they faced a formidable opponent, the Indians of the Western plains. The Plains Indians were masters of mounted warfare, and many of their leaders were skillful strategists, matching their Cavalry counterparts in battle strategy and tactics.

Unquestionably, the handgun most closely identified with the U.S. Cavalry is the .45 caliber Model 1873 Single Action revolver with a 7 1/2" barrel. The official Army sidearm from 1873 until 1892, it won a special place in the hearts of Americans for its dramatic role on the Western frontier during the Old West era. Long after retirement from government service, it was carried by military and police officers who appreciated its power, simplicity and rugged construction.

Today, America Remembers is proud to present the U.S. Cavalry Association Tribute Revolver, a handsome, Single Action Revolver, which is issued in cooperation with the United States Cavalry Association at Fort Riley, Kansas. Each revolver now available in this edition is produced for us by the master craftsmen of A. Uberti, who have expertly created this classic firearm just as they have created so many of the western classics since 1959, and have established themselves as the premier maker of historical firearms recreations.  For decades, their craftsmen have combined modern high-grade materials with the time-honored methods of finishing to create exquisite, working reproductions of history's greatest firearms.

This edition is issued in a very limited quantity of only 300 Tribute revolvers.  With a design that melds efficiency with beauty, the Single Action Revolver is known for its smooth handling, balance and style.  The U.S. Cavalry Association Tribute Revolver fills your hand with the celebrated weight, solidity and fine balance that has marked the Single Action from its very beginning. Each revolver is polished and decorated by craftsmen specifically commissioned for the Tribute by America Remembers. The Tribute revolver is polished overall to a near-mirror finish, and then decorated in 24-karat gold and nickel with special blackened patinaed highlights.
