Jamestown 400th Anniversary Tribute Shotgun

Category: Uncategorized

THIS ISSUE IS CLOSED

Four hundred years ago, three ships crossed an ocean in search of fortune. What the men aboard found was suffering, hardship and a never ending fight for survival. But with courage and conviction they succeeded against unbelievable odds. And ultimately, they accomplished much more than they had ever dreamed possible.

The story of the Jamestown settlers is part of the fabric of American history. And those who took part became legends. Their struggle is a tale of tragedy and triumph. Looking back we marvel at their resilience and celebrate their adventures. And tales such as the exploits of Captain John Smith and the compassion of Pocahontas became stories passed on through the generations.

A Museum-Quality Masterpiece

Now, as America celebrates its first permanent settlement, America Remembers is especially proud to announce an exclusive new Tribute honoring four centuries of heritage and history: The Jamestown 400th Anniversary Tribute Shotgun. Few stories symbolize the spirit of our country like the sweeping struggle of the first colonists. Through all of the hardships, Jamestown survived. The seeds that were planted on that island—free enterprise, private land ownership, representative government and cultural diversity— would bloom into the United States of America. Because as the founding fathers forged our nation, they surely drew on the courage, sacrifice and success of the original settlers and the colony they called Jamestown. Don’t miss this exclusive opportunity to honor their courage and sacrifice.

Left side of receiver features a highly-detailed portrait of Captain John Smith, a leader of the colony for a short period and an expert negotiator when it came to dealing with the Powhatan Indians. Beside Smith is an example of a 17th century map of Jamestowne, along with two of the three ships to make the voyage from England: the Susan Constant and the Discovery. The central artwork features a banner reading, “Jamestowne Settlement.” All artwork is featured in stunning 24-karat gold and nickel.

Right side of receiver features the Godspeed sailing up the James River. Also featured is the fabled rescue of Captain John Smith by Pocahontas. As legend has it, Smith’s life was spared when Pocahontas threw herself over the captured Englishman. John Smith went so far as to credit her as being instrumental in the survival of Jamestown. Next to the rescue scene, is a portrait of Pocahontas based on a classic engraving from the era. Pocahontas would marry John Rolfe in 1614, and she died in 1617 while in England.
