“The American Cattlebrand Revolver from America Remembers is museum-quality and historically accurate.
“Cowpoke”, “cattle-puncher”, “cattle-drover”, and “cowboy”… all of these are fond names that have become commonplace over many years, referring to the explorers and settlers of our Western states. Yet in a manner of speaking, these endearing terms alone, are inadequate, for indeed these stalwart men were the explorers, the mapmakers, the architects – the virtual trailblazers of our vast range lands.
We owe them much, for they gave us the heritage that we enjoy, and without them we would not be this great nation we know today. And we of “America Remembers” – in keeping with our pledge to “keep the past in the present” are proud to present a handsome firearm celebrating the cowboys and cattlemen of America.
This magnificently engraved Colt 45 is intended not only to enshrine the memory of those many “ghost riders in the sky”, but also to make it possible for those who demand the very best, to enjoy owning an authentic “Cattlebrand Gun”.
Mr. Cole Agee of Forth Worth, Texas cut the first Cattlebrand revolver under commission from the president of Mexico, Miguel Aleman in 1947. Cole Agee was requested to prepare a revolver in a style and manner that had never before been seen. He wanted to honor the Southwest, yet still be representative of our great heritage as a nation. And what would be better than artwork that told a story in and of itself. Cole proceeded to engrave the pistol in registered cattlebrands, complimented with delicate sprigs of “scroll”. At the same time, Weldon Bledsoe was developing his Cattlebrand engraving style. After the death of Cole Agee, Weldon Bledsoe engraved Cattlebrand style revolvers for almost 40 years, and many have ended up in special collections and museums. The look is truly American and captures the heritage of the American cowboy and the western frontier.
