In “Vietnam Express,” a stunning custom bike sits in front of the memorial wall. In the background, you’ll find a reflection of the Washington Monument and two fighter jets racing through the sky.
The left side features an image of “Mount Rushmore,” with a powerhouse custom lowrider in front of the national monument. In “Freedom,” you’ll find fireworks light up the night sky as the face of Lady Liberty looms large over a custom chopper. She remains the most recognized landmark of America, and an enduring reminder that America is the Land of Liberty, a nation built on freedom and democracy. In the final image, “Freedom Rolls” stands bold with details from the American flag in the background, above the outstretched wings of an eagle and a chrome-spoked tire emblazoned “Motor Marc.”
There is no place in the world quite like the United States of America.
We are over 300 million strong. We are fifty states and one flag. We are all part of a story that began with a revolution and a fight for independence. We are Americans… and our freedom is a gift that we inherited from the generations who came before us. You won’t find any mention of motorcycles in the Declaration of Independence. Our Founding Fathers never knew the thrill of letting a V-Twin “off its leash” on a stretch of empty highway. But it definitely sounded like they had riders in mind when they wrote about “certain unalienable Rights… among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
For many of us, the fascination with motorcycles began when we were teenagers. Riding a bike appeared to be the perfect way to satisfy our desires for adventure and freedom. If we didn’t have a motorcycle, we were captivated by the raw power and sound of motorcycles.
Our fascination with bikes may have been further fueled by Hollywood with classic films like Easy Rider and The Great Escape in the 1960’s. Did you see either of these movies? If so, you probably remember Peter Fonda as Captain America, riding a customized chopper in Easy Rider, decorated in stars and stripes. In “The Great Escape,” there is an adrenaline rush scene of Steve McQueen jumping a fence on a motorcycle as he tries to escape from a prison camp. If you’ve seen the movie, you never forget the scene.
The right side features scenes from “Vietnam Wall” and “Vietnam Express,” both set at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. “Vietnam Wall” is a Tribute to Vietnam veterans and showcases a stars-and-stripes-themed custom decorated motorcycle parked proudly in front of the Vietnam Wall, which honors U.S. service members who lost their lives in the war and those who remain missing-in-action.
