Gary Cooper Tribute Rifle

Category: Uncategorized

THIS ISSUE IS CLOSED

GCOOPERTRI_photo2One of the greatest stars in the history of film is honored with the Gary Cooper Tribute Rifle, a handsomely decorated Winchester Model 94. America Remembers is proud to celebrate a legendary cowboy and a genuine icon from the Golden Age of the Hollywood Westerns. Each working firearm is decorated with incredible detail by craftsmen specifically commissioned by America Remembers for this Tribute. The rifle’s handsome stocks are polished and elegantly carved with an image of Gary Cooper on the shoulder stock and his name (and hat) on the forearm. And as a stunning complement to the receiver artwork, the barrel bands, hammer, lever, trigger and end cap are all highlighted in 24-karat gold. Each Tribute is individually numbered from 001 to 250, on the bottom of the receiver.

Left side of the receiver features three detailed portraits of Gary Cooper, capturing the handsome, yet humble, Hollywood icon. The center illustration, surrounded by gold banners reading “Gary Cooper Tribute,” shows the rugged star above his signature. Just to the right of his signature is a quick cowboy scribble, based on an actual doodle drawn by Gary Cooper, which often accompanied his autograph. (Cooper was a gifted illustrator, who originally came to Los Angeles to become a newspaper cartoonist). To the left is Cooper in full cowboy attire. On the right is Cooper clutching his rifle with his hat drawn low, wearing the familiar expression of a strong cowboy ready for action.

The right side of the receiver features another striking portrait of Cooper, showing a glimpse of the man who was admired by men and adored by women. Also featured prominently is a magnificent image of the rider alongside his mount. Coop (as his close friends called him) believed that a running horse was “one of the most beautiful sights in the world” and he enjoyed making Westerns so much because they kept him outside on horseback. In the tradition of the finest presentation firearms, both sides of the receiver artwork are framed in elegant gold scrollwork. All artwork on the receiver is featured in 24-karat gold with blackened patinaed highlights.
