Iron Eyes Cody Tribute

Category: Uncategorized

THIS ISSUE IS CLOSED

IECpictureIn more than 200 Western films and television shows, Iron Eyes Cody changed the way we looked at the American Indian. With the shedding of a single tear, he changed the way we look at ourselves.

His public service announcements encouraging Americans to protect our environment touched millions, and made Iron Eyes Cody, the “Crying Indian,” one of the most recognized faces in America.

IECleft

Left side of receiver features a portrait of Iron Eyes Cody in profile.   It’s an instantly recognizable face, with his lined, rugged features suggesting hard-won wisdom and the strength of a survivor.  With his chin held high, Iron Eyes looks straight ahead with courage and pride.  His clothing is faithfully reproduced, and the designs on his vest are interwoven throughout the artwork.

IECrght

Right side of the receiver features a portrait of Iron Eyes in his most famous role, that of the “Crying Indian.”  A single tear rolls down his cheek in a silent appeal to help preserve our land.  In his hair, he wears a single feather, another trademark.  The portrait is framed by plant motifs and geometric patterns representing his dedication to the land and his love of the American Indian culture.

IEC

Handsome brass tacks have been added to the richly finished stocks.   The circular design on both sides of the shoulder stock represents the American Indian symbol for the Universe.  Barrel bands, lever, hammer, trigger, magazine cap, and hooded site are all decorated in 24-karat gold.
