A Handsomely Decorated Henry Rifle Tribute Designed by Mort Künstler, America’s Leading Civil War Artist
Right side showcases a Künstler favorite, “Chamberlain’s Charge,” as Joshua Chamberlain leads Union forces at Gettysburg in the famed bayonet charge against the attacking Confederate forces. To the right, Lee and Jackson are shown on horseback in “…They Were Soldiers Indeed.” To the far left is one of Künstler’s earliest Civil War paintings titled, “War Between the States,” as a Union soldier drinks from his canteen. The Künstler images are framed by a 24-karat gold decorated background with elegant scrollwork. Craftsmen commissioned specifically for this Tribute by America Remembers capture Mr. Künstler’s original artwork in minute detail, with a nickel background serving as the canvas for the artwork.
Left side of receiver features Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson inspecting J.E.B. Stuart’s cavalry troops in “Review at Moss Neck.” To the left, “The High Tide” features Pickett’s Charge at Gettysburg. Confederate forces briefly broke through the Union line, but were eventually turned back. For many, this historic moment represents a turning point for the Confederate forces. To the far right, a Confederate soldier pauses for water in “Still Flying,” a companion piece to “War Between the States,” which is featured on the right side.
The hand polished walnut stocks are laser-carved with Mort Künstler’s signature on both sides.
The Tribute rifle is issued under license from Künstler Enterprises, Ltd. ©2000 Mort Künstler, Inc.
