The comeback of the wild turkey population is considered one of America’s greatest conservation success stories. Though wild turkey numbers dropped as low as 30,000 birds, today more than 7 million wild turkeys flourish throughout North America. Working closely with the National Wild Turkey Federation, artists commissioned by America Remembers have created a museum-quality masterpiece. Craftsmen polish and decorate each shotgun with artwork in lustrous 24-karat gold with a striking nickel background to highlight the artwork. The blackened patinaed accents highlight the remarkable details in the gold artwork honoring the majestic wild turkey and celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
The left side of the receiver prominently features a trophy tom proudly displaying his plumage to a nearby female. Brilliant, feathered filigree frames the pair of wild turkeys and the artwork is featured in brilliant 24-karat gold. Elegant scrollwork in the tradition of the finest presentation grade firearms adds a finishing touch to the design.
On the right side of the receiver, four wild turkeys forage for food in their natural habitat.
