“We Will Never Forget”:
The POW/MIA Riders Tribute Pistol
The book of American history is full of war stories. Some are triumphant. Some are tragic. But all of them teach us the true cost of freedom. From our very first fight for independence to current missions overseas, the United States Armed Forces have helped forge and defend the way of life we enjoy today. You know the stories. From Bunker Hill to Baghdad, there are tales of service and sacrifice … brotherhood and bravery. Legends of extraordinary courage that passed through generations.
But today, there are still almost 83,000 war stories without an ending, 83,000 Americans who never came home.
Thankfully, those without closure have champions. All across this country, there are men and women on motorcycles who have made it their mission to remember. They ride to remind us all that those classified as POW (prisoners of war) or MIA (missing in action) shall not be forgotten. They ride on cruisers and choppers and hogs and hot rods. They cover millions of miles of highways, byways and backroads. And all along their route they are cheered, saluted and celebrated for the vital role they play in honoring, healing and helping families find peace.
We all owe a debt of gratitude to all who were injured, and those captured and put in POW camps. We can never repay those brave souls who lost their lives or those who are still missing-in-action. But as friends, families and fellow veterans have shown, we can come together to salute those who served with honor, valor and dignity. We can remember.
The POW/MIA Riders Tribute Pistol is issued exclusively by America Remembers with authorization from the Minnesota POW/MIA Riders Association in honor of those who never came home. The Tribute is a working Colt® Government Model® in caliber .45 ACP, issued by America Remembers in a limited edition of 500 Tributes. Craftsmen commissioned specifically for this project by America Remembers decorate each pistol in sparkling 24-karat gold and nickel artwork. This handsome presentation firearm captures the passion and patriotic spirit of those who left home long ago, and never returned, and those who are still here to keep the candles burning and the engines running in hopes they soon return.
Their motto? “We Will Never Forget.”
“Until Every Story Ends”
As long as there has been conflict, there have been POWs and MIAs. But it wasn’t until Vietnam that the POW/MIA cause gained momentum and became a movement. In 1970, the National League of POW/MIA Families was incorporated. The group brought awareness to the issue. They grew in numbers and inspired action. And they made noise … lots of noise.
A different kind of noise can be heard today, on motorcycle rides across America led by groups who also refuse to close the chapter on friends and loved ones classified as POW or MIA. Their motto is “We Will Never Forget,” and they work tirelessly to make certain all Americans remember our proud warriors who never returned.
You can hear their pipes roar across America. It’s the sound of hundreds and thousands riding together, a parade of rumbling thunder and shimmering chrome. Headlights on, they proudly fly American flags and banners bearing the colors and symbols of every branch of service. Sailors and soldiers cruise side-by-side with Marines and airmen. Men and women from all walks of life, united on two(sometimes three) wheels for a single mission.
But what we can do is support the POW/MIA cause; we can thank the families and friends and fellow veterans for giving us the life we get to live; we can appreciate their service and sacrifice. Most importantly, we can never, ever forget them.

This POW/MIA Riders Tribute Pistol pays respect to the best and bravest our nation had to offer. When their country called, they answered. They didn’t hesitate to put their lives on the line and give everything in defense of our liberty and freedom. As Americans, we owe them a debt that we can never fully repay. The Tribute will be a lasting reminder of all those who have served our country, but never returned home, and an on-going reminder of those who have sacrificed for the freedom we enjoy. It’s important that we never, ever forget them.
A highlight on the right slide is the majestic American eagle. The bird’s steely gaze looks out over another group of riders heading into the wind with a trio of flags waving behind them. These riders ensure we never forget all those who have served our country, and those who never came home. A banner beside the eagle reads: “A man is not dead until he is forgotten.” And to the right of the illustration, you’ll find a banner reading: “We will never forget.”
On the left slide, you’ll find a group of motorcycle riders decked out in helmets and sunglasses. The pack rides tight together in the illustration, and you can even spot the POW/MIA flag in the background. A flowing banner is emblazoned with “Riding to Honor and Remember.” On the right, the cascading stripes of the nickel-plated American flag showcase the phrase, “All Gave Some. Some Gave All.” In addition to paying tribute to those who have been classified as POW/MIA in the past, many groups ride to reinforce their support for all who serve today.
