One of the Most Sought-After Firearms in History Celebrates the Career of One of America’s Most Popular Sports Heroes
As far and away the most successful driver in stock car racing, Richard Petty has truly earned the title bestowed on him by his army of grateful fans: “King Richard.”
And if ever a gun deserves the title of “King,” it is surely the blue and silver Single-Action .45 revolver — the weapon of choice for over a century among cowboys, lawmen, outlaws, men of the military, Western film stars and devoted firearms collectors.
What better way to salute the illustrious career of the most famous stock car driver in history than with this rare issue of the most famous gun in history — the legendary Single Action Revolver.
But just as a driver like Richard Petty comes along only once in a lifetime, the Richard Petty .45 Revolver is a not-to-be-repeated opportunity to enhance your collection. Only 1,000 of the Silver Edition will be produced, and once the limit is reached, it will only be available as a resale item from private collections.
Winning Craftsmanship Honors Racing’s Most Winning Driver
The skilled gunsmiths, etchers, and engravers commissioned by America Remembers have put the same excellence in to this firearm as Richard Petty himself puts into everything he does.
The quality starts with the materials themselves: blued forged steel, hand-fitted faux ivory grips and, at Richard’s specific request, fine silver, purer than sterling silver, is used for the decoration.
The embellishments commemorate Richard Petty and his outstanding career. His name and legendary number, 43, are inscribed on the left side of the barrel, while the right side is adorned with the title bestowed on him by adoring fans: “King Richard.”
Do you want to know the years of his seven Winston Cup victories? Just check out the cylinder ridges and the frame beside the cylinder.
You will also find the famous Petty profile in cowboy had and sunglasses. His bold signature is incised in both grips.
But don’t let all the decoration fool you into thinking this is just a display model. This is a working Single-Action .45, based on the famous Colt design known as the “Peacemaker.” There is no design more highly prized among knowledgeable collectors.
