America Remembers is proud to announce The Charlie Daniels Band® Tribute Revolver, being issued with the authorization of The Charlie Daniels Band, which honors this American music legend. The Tribute is a handsomely decorated, working Single Action revolver in caliber .45 LC.
There is no other artist quite like Charlie Daniels. For over 50 years the big man in the even bigger hat has been making music and to this day, when he steps to the microphone with a fiddle or guitar, he can set the stage ablaze and bring the crowd to their feet.
Charlie Daniels is an “unapologetic patriot” who speaks his mind on matters of God and country. For more than half a century he’s been a proud spokesman for the spirit, soul, and sound of the South. You don’t need to look any further than Charlie Daniel’s oversized belt buckle or boots to recognize his passion for the West.
When it comes to honest-to-goodness American values, Charlie Daniels is the real deal.
Even though he has sold millions of records, entertained generations of fans and helped change the face of country music, Charlie Daniels remains grounded. He still runs his life on “cowboy logic” – that old-fashioned code of the West where deals are made with a handshake and a promise. For Charlie Daniels, “cowboy logic” means that you do what you can to help younger artists succeed and you show support of the troops even if that means flying halfway around the world to entertain them. It means that you don’t just do what everyone else is doing… you do it better.
Charlie stepped in front of the spotlight when he formed The Charlie Daniels Band in 1970. Their first hit, “Uneasy Rider,” was followed by the rousing Southern anthems, “Long Haired Country Boy” and “The South’s Gonna Do It (Again).” The band’s biggest commercial hit came in 1979 when “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” became a worldwide sensation. The single topped both the country and pop music charts and earned The Charlie Daniels Band a Grammy for Best Country Performance.
The band stayed busy in the decades that followed, crisscrossing America, performing to sellout crowds and releasing hit albums and songs, including “The Legend of Wooley Swamp,” “Simple Man,” and “Still In Saigon.” They recorded a wide range of albums that included country, bluegrass, gospel and even Christmas music, while continuing to tour alone and often with good friend as part of the ongoing Volunteer Jam (which Charlie started back in 1974). Over the years, the honors, and awards kept coming… and so did the fans.
Charlie has shown his unwavering patriotism and support for American soldiers serving overseas by visiting Iraq several times to play for the troops. On his second visit he recorded an album, “The Charlie Daniels Band Live From Iraq” (2007 Blue Hat Records). Charlie also realized a lifelong dream in 2008 when he was inducted as a full-fledged member of the Grand Ole Opry. Today, The Charlie Daniels Band continues to tour across America, securing the big man with the mean fiddle as a true American legend of country music.
A Handsomely Decorated 24-Karat Gold Tribute
In choosing the perfect firearm for The Charlie Daniels Band Tribute, we selected a classic firearm which has been a favorite of firearms enthusiasts since its introduction more than 125 years ago. The Single Action Army Revolver, also known as “The Peacemaker,” became the universally recognized symbol of the Old West. The sixshot equalizer was the firearm of choice for mountain men and marshals; gamblers and thieves; cowpunchers and buffalo hunters. No one can say for sure whether the Single Action Army tamed the Wild West… or made it even wilder. But the undisputed truth is that no revolver has earned greater fame or more deserves its reputation as an iconic firearm of American history.
The Single Action Revolver is a masterpiece of practical design and form, and because it remains one of the most popular firearms for collectors, America Remembers felt there was no better pistol to celebrate the life, music, and career of Charlie Daniels. Revolvers for this Tribute are produced by the incomparable craftsmen from A. Uberti, which is recognized as the premier maker of classic firearms from America’s storied history. Craftsmen commissioned specifically by America Remembers decorate each Tribute in stunning 24-karat gold and nickel with a blackened patinaed background to highlight the details of the artwork. The right side of the cylinder features Charlie looking relaxed with his arms crossed in a Western-style fringe jacket.
The left side features Charlie with his famous fiddle and bow, the instrument that he worked his magic on for songs like “Orange Blossom Special” and “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”
The Tribute’s artwork continues at the top of the backstrap with a stylized logo reading, “The Charlie Daniels Band.” Further down the backstrap is a depiction of Charlie Daniels’ signature, bookended by handsome decorative scrollwork.
