In addition, there is a 100th Anniversary edition of 500 Patriotic Colt .45 Pistols, featuring an American Eagle and the phrase “Land of the Free, Home of the Brave.” Craftsmen specifically commissioned by America Remembers decorate each Colt .45 pistol in stunning 24-karat gold artwork over a blue steel canvas. The .45 caliber masterpiece, designed by John Browning and produced by Colt’s Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company, served as the official sidearm for our country’s Armed Forces from 1911 to 1985.
