Honoring the Proud Defenders of America’s First Freedom
Even though the Bill of Rights was ratified more than two centuries ago, its contents have never been more relevant. The core principles of freedom and liberty laid out by the Founding Fathers continue to instill pride, stir emotions and spark passion, and none more than the Second Amendment.
But what was first proposed to protect us… eventually needed defending itself.
Fortunately, when it comes to protecting our Second Amendment rights, American citizens have no greater ally than the National Rifle Association. For over 130 years, the NRA has served as America’s first line of defense in preserving the right of the people to keep and bear arms. As America’s oldest civil rights organization, its mission is to preserve the inalienable rights outlined more than 225 years ago by our Founding Fathers, and they have been unwavering in holding fast to this mission for decades.
The NRA began in 1871 as an invaluable educator in firearms marksmanship and safety. But in recent decades, it has emerged as a true leader and an outspoken advocate for the American firearms owner. Today the NRA is nearly four million strong, a dedicated and passionate collective of members who share a common bond—an appreciation of firearms, a commitment to safety and responsibility and an unwavering defense of the Second Amendment in America.
A Tribute to the Defenders of Freedom
Few organizations are more rooted in the basic values of America than the National Rifle Association. That is why America Remembers is extremely proud to introduce a new Tribute honoring this esteemed organization and the rights of American citizenship it protects: the NRA Second Amendment Tribute Revolver. Working closely with the leadership of the NRA, America Remembers chose the classic Smith & Wesson Model 629 revolver as the perfect stainless steel canvas for a powerful tribute to the defenders of America’s first freedom.
Craftsmen commissioned specifically for this project by America Remembers decorate each Tribute in stunning 24-karat gold and nickel with a blackened patinaed background to highlight the details of the artwork, which perfectly captures the enduring spirit of the NRA and the Second Amendment.
A Classic Stainless Steel Revolver
In 1965, Smith & Wesson launched the era of stainless steel firearms with the Model 60, the world’s first stainless steel revolver. The rich legacy of Smith & Wesson and their stainless steel models made their Model ‘629 stainless steel revolver a natural fit for America Remembers’ salute to the NRA and the Second Amendment. One of the world’s most respected firearms for more than 150 years, Smith & Wesson revolvers have remained a top choice among target shooters, hunters and collectors alike. And as a company, Smith & Wesson has always been at the forefront of fine presentation firearms.
