Saluting America’s Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen
Defending Freedom Forever
America Remembers introduces the Tribute to America’s Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen Thompson. These Thompsons honor the United States’ Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen who have put country before self. America’s Armed Forces have sacrificed and served courageously throughout our nation’s history protecting freedom, liberty, and justice for all. Generation after generation of men and women have served our nation to ensure Freedom Forever for all our citizens. A legendary general once stated, “Wars maybe fought with weapons, but they are won by men.”
Now, America Remembers proudly honors America’s Armed Forces in exclusive editions limited to 500 Thompsons per service branch. America Remembers presents a Tribute to America’s Soldiers, a Tribute to America’s Sailors, and a Tribute to America’s Airmen all issued on working semi-automatic Thompson submachine guns in caliber .45 ACP. These exciting new issues honor both the service of the American Soldier, Sailor, and Airmen and their legendary partnership with one of the most remarkable infantry weapons of the last hundred years. Craftsmen commissioned specifically by America Remembers decorate each working Thompson in sparkling 24-karat gold and nickel. Don’t miss the opportunity to own a genuine Thompson built in the United States by the gunsmiths of the Auto-Ordnance Corporation, the company founded by Brigadier General John T. Thompson himself.
Nothing else looked like the Thompson. Nothing else sounded like it. And Nothing ended a Firefight faster.
Some of our Armed Forces have carried the Thompson into World War II, North Africa, D-Day landings, the frozen forests of Europe, island-hopping campaigns of the Pacific. Some of our military relied on the trusty Thompson during the Korean War and the Thompson proved itself once again in the unforgiving jungle combat of Vietnam. Together, the Thompson and the Armed Forces made history. The powerful Thompson is a true American icon with decades of distinguished service to the United States and we’ve chose this classic American-made firearm for this Tribute, which was born of the same ingenuity and perseverance that makes our country great.
Once in a great while a single firearm can change the face of war.
By the time America entered World War II, the Thompson was a trusted ally for America’s Armed Forces. Once called, “The deadliest weapon pound for pound, ever devised by man”, it was the perfect weapon for the United States Armed Forces. The Thompson provided a huge advantage and helped turn the tide of countless firefights. To this day, the Thompson remains one of the most widely recognized and respected firearms in our nation’s history and throughout the world.
Each Armed Forces Tribute features artwork unique to the service branch honored depicting scenes related to soldiers, sailors, or airmen.
Soldiers
On the left side of a Tribute to America’s Soldiers Thompson, you’ll find two scenes that show the soldier and the Thompson in action. The first scene shows infantrymen landing on the beach during the D-Day invasion. Dodging a hail of bullets and artillery shells, soldiers dragged the Thompson through seawater and sand. Once they reached enemy positions, the last thing they needed was a misfire. The trusty Thompson rarely let them down. Also featured is an outline of the U.S.A. with the words, “Freedom Forever,” and a banner reading “Country Before Self,” both honoring the selfless contributions of America’s Soldiers. At the center, a soldier stands firing his Thompson.
The right side of a Tribute to America’s Soldiers Thompson features an illustration of a soldier taking aim with his Thompson and banners that read, “Saluting America’s Soldiers” and “Defending Freedom”. The rest of the action on the right side of the receiver depicts scenes during WWII and the Korean and Vietnam Wars. In the North African campaign in WWII, soldiers wielded the Thompson alongside battle tanks during desert warfare. On the front lines of Korea, the soldiers distinguished themselves with the Thompson. Though the struggles and harsh conditions in Korea would push every soldier to the limit, the fighting spirit of America’s Soldiers carried on. In Vietnam, with helicopters in the background, soldiers relied on their Thompsons, often in the rice paddies and jungles.
Sailors
The Tribute to America’s Sailors Thompson honors those who patrol and protect America on the world’s vast oceans and open seas. The right side features an American Sailor in his familiar white uniform. Beside him is the intimidating image of an American destroyer. Also featured is our stylized logo to the spirit of the American Sailor which features a globe of the earth in the center, framed with a sailor cap, anchor, and compass. Surrounding the logo, banners read, “Defending Freedom Around the World.” The cap and anchor are iconic images familiar to every sailor, while the compass and globe represent the idea that the men and women of our fleet are prepared to go anywhere in defense of our freedom. Next is the image of a mighty aircraft carrier which serve as command centers for many operations. Banners on the right side read, “American Freedom Tribute®” and “Freedom Is Never Free”.
On the left side, you’ll find a group of sailors surrounded by an oval rope frame beneath a banner that reads, “Saluting America’s Sailors.” Most sailors will agree that the camaraderie and cooperation of a ship’s crew is the key to their strength. A quartet of Korean War-era jet fighters patrolling in formation over the Pacific is featured along with an outline of the USA, framing the words, “Freedom Forever.” The banner below reads, “Country Before Self.” These remind us of the daily sacrifices made by sailors on behalf of all Americans.
Airmen
In the center of the left side of the Tribute to America’s Airmen Thompson, an early jet pilot proudly stands before the American flag. To his left is a foursome of F-86 Sabres, the powerful fighter jets that replaced the Mustangs and won glory in the dangerous air battles of the Korean War. Additional artwork features a banner reading, “Saluting America’s Armed Forces”. Also featured is an outline of the USA framing the words “Freedom Forever”, and a banner below reads “Country Before Self”, a reminder that our Armed Forces are always on duty protecting our cherished freedoms.
In the center of the right side of the Tribute to America’s Airmen Thompson is a military police airman standing guard with a Thompson in hand and a plane behind him. Featured to his left are a pair of B-17 Flying Fortress bombers which were used in Europe and the Pacific in WWII. To his right is the legendary B-52 Bomber, a heavyweight bomber introduced in the 1950’s. Also featured is a trio of P-51 Mustangs racing across a backdrop of Old Glory. The right side features banners reading, “American Freedom Tribute®” and “Freedom Is Never Free”, a reminder that Americans need to be ever vigilant in protecting our freedoms and there is always a price to pay to protect our cherished freedoms.
