Honoring A Century Of Uncommon Valor And Service To America

America is the world’s shining beacon of democracy, opportunity and freedom.  For well over two centuries, our nation – and our soldiers – have remained steadfast in the defense of our great nation and the noble ideals upon which it was founded. In foxholes and trenches under fire…in mined fields, flak-filled skies and war-rolled seas…in fierce and dangerous battles from the Philippines to the beaches of Normandy to Vietnam, our military has always fought nobly, bravely and courageously – risking everything for love of country and liberty.

From the American Revolution to the present day, the U.S. Army has been involved in every important military conflict, defending freedom and America at any cost.  And now we can celebrate the priceless contribution our Army – the most powerful ground force in the entire world – has made to the American legacy.

Whether you are a veteran who answered the call to duty in wartime or peacetime … or you wish to honor a cherished relative or friend who served, The Army Historical Foundation 20th Century Colt .45 Tribute Pistol is the first military Tribute Pistol America Remembers has ever issued with The Army Historical Foundation to acknowledge the crucial role the Army has played in our history.

The pages of American history are filled with accounts of brilliant leadership and acts of incredible daring, courage and selflessness – from the hand-to-hand combat against the fierce Moros during the Philippine Insurrection at the turn of the 20th century…to America’s quick and decisive triumph in Desert Storm toward the end of the century. And this Tribute Pistol is decorated with artwork that reflects the powerful sense of duty, the commitment to serve a beloved nation and the determination that has driven one generation after another to keep America strong and free.

Officially Authorized By The Army Historical Foundation, which plans to build the very first National Army Museum.

The Army Historical Foundation is dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of the American soldier and to promoting understanding and appreciation of the contributions made by all members of the U.S Army – Regular, Reserve and National Guard – to the security and welfare of America. The Army Historical Foundation is also dedicated to building a U.S Army museum to honor America’s oldest branch of service, which doesn’t currently have a national museum.

The artwork in 24-karat gold and nickel captures legendary U.S. Army campaigns of the 20th century.  The right side depicts World War I tanks, soldiers firing a howitzer during the Korean War, and General Norman Schwarzkopf, who directed our troops to victory in America’s decisive triumph in Desert Storm.

The left side portrays a decisive battle during the Philippine Insurrection, as U.S. Army troops under the command of General John J. Pershing, defeated the Moros in 1913.  Also featured is a battle scene from World War II and a portrait of General John J. Pershing as General of the Armies.

The Army Historical Foundation’s authorization adds considerable prestige and importance to this Tribute Pistol, whose history is interwoven in the fabric of 20th century American military history. In fact, the Colt .45 was chosen for this Tribute Pistol because it was first used to help bring the Philippine Insurrection to a successful close in the early years of the 20th century.

Top of the slide features the legend “U.S. Army 20th Century Tribute” and banners listing major military campaigns of the century.

From the World Wars to Korea and Vietnam, this classic military firearm was a favorite of Army officers. And no firearm has been more closely identified with the U.S military than the Colt Government Issue .45 caliber semi-automatic service pistol, the first choice in the major military campaigns of the 20th century. It was born for a combat role and generations of American soldiers have been united in their admiration for this pistol. Powerful and built to perform under abuse, it was coveted by soldiers who felt better equipped for battle with a trusty Colt by their side.
